Mid-South Cold Case Initiative Is Now The Homicide Project
Over the past two decades homicides and cold cases have significantly evolved causing some experts to rethink their position and the way the problem is being addressed. Therefore, the Mid-South Cold Case Initiative has transitioned to this new site, “The Homicide Project” where the more recent ideas and concepts can be researched, explored, evaluated and put into practice.
Basically, we are shifting from emphasizing cold case investigations, to focusing on the fresh cases – in other words, “stop the bleeding at the source” when the case first comes to the attention of the police. Ultimately we will make our communities a safer place to live by increasing solve rates that will in turn reduce the number of unresolved cold cases and address some of the pain and suffering endured by the surviving families of homicide.
